What is coaching?
Coaching is a professional relationship that’s focused on the client – helping you go from where you are to where you want to be.
As a coach, I believe you have all the answers that your life is causing you to seek about your character, your business, relationships and/or career. My job is to hold a safe, confidential, and objective space, where I can effectually listen deeply and ask questions that will guide you in discovering the answers that are right for you!
Sometimes, the road to fulfillment can appear to be blocked by obstacles and limitations. Sometimes, they're self imposed. I keep my focus on the broader landscape of your life: your goals, dreams, and what makes you feel alive. Remember the old punch line, “You just can't get there from here!" Together, we’ll chart a course that moves you through obstacles and limits and onto the path of believing, "Yes...I can get there from here!"
How do the coaching sessions work?
Coaching is usually done over the phone. In addition to allowing frequent, regular contact, this makes it easier for some to stay in the "coaching relationship." In-person sessions can be arranged as desired. Prior to each call, you have the option of completing a Coaching Call Strategy Form, where you can briefly describe the progress and challenges that may have occurred since the last call. Most ClearView clients are coached during 30-minute sessions once a week.
You determine the focus of the call. It may be a standing goal or a goal formed from an earlier session. Coaching brings out your best development through questioning, challenging, and planning in a forward moving, non-judgmental process. Often, "fieldwork" is presented, where you’ll be given a perspective, challenge, or an inquiry to explore on your own.
How do business executives and owners use coaching?
Business coaching creates an environment where there is freedom from judgment and expectations that executives or owners must appear a certain way. In this environment, you can question, be unsure, observe, explore, experiment, learn, and change.
Businesses and organizations use coaching for many purposes:
- Reach high target goals
- Discover new markets
- Create new perspectives and opportunities
- Integrate business and personal life for balance
- Prioritize actions and projects
- Find fresh approaches to old problems
- Motivate executives, management, and staff
- Address unusual or difficult situations
- Discuss confidential business and/or personal issues
How long do most people work with a coach?
Each client is different. Many clients receive coaching from three months up to 12 months and beyond. As you first get started, I’ll establish a verbal agreement of at least three months, which allows sufficient time for results to begin showing. Every client's goals are different, and the relationship evolves as needs change. You decide when the coaching relationship is complete.
What is in the Secure Client's Area?
In this area, you can:
- Complete your Welcome Packet
- Update various forms (such as the Client Profile, Goals, and Discovery)
- Schedule & reschedule your coaching appointments
- Browse various links, documents, and materials posted for your use
- Review archived newsletters
- Complete your Call Strategy Form prior to the coaching session
How do I access your Secure Client's Area?
Click on the “Clients only” link at the top of the home page. Next, select the “Login” link in the upper center of the main welcome page. You will know you have successfully logged into this area when you see the following displayed in the upper left corner: Welcome (your name).
What if I’ve lost my password?
Not a problem! When you go to the Secure Client Area and click on the “Login” link, you will be able to enter your username and then select the “I forgot my password” button. The system will automatically send you an e-mail with your password. Should you misplace your username, contact us by e-mail.
What do I do if I have to re-schedule an appointment?
Simply log into the “Clients only” area with your username and password and use the online calendar to reschedule your session. Make sure you choose an open coaching time within a slot marked "available." Once you have determined your preferred time slot, click on the title of your current coaching appointment, then select the "Edit" button and add the new date and time for your appointment. You and your life coach will receive instant e-mails confirming the changes.
What happens if I miss a call due to an emergency?
We can do "laser coaching" via e-mail until our next scheduled call. If you can let us know at least 24 hours in advance, we will do our best to reschedule your appointment.
